The simplest and least expensive way to add FPS and accuracy for any airsoft gun is one few take the time to do. Most stock airsoft guns come with brass inner barrels which arrive in need of a thorough cleaning. To clean the barrel use the cleaning rod that comes with the gun. Use a series of strips of paper towels and run them up and down the barrel accumulating the crud that will no doubt be present. Squirt a tiny amount of silicon oil on the first paper towel you ram down the barrel and then run dry towels to absorb all the oil.
When you you insert you rod be sure to only run it down to (but not beyond) the hop up bucking. As soon as you get resistance stop pushing the rod. The final technique and the one that really creates the magic is use a tiny drop of BRASSO on your paper towel. This solvent is a mild abrasive designed to polish brass. By running it up and down your barrel you will create less resistance in the barrel by eliminating the tiny deformities that are naturally inside your stock barrel.
Depending on your gun I typically see an increase of about 7 FPS and noticeably improved accuracy. Brasso is typically available in stores. Periodically cleaning your airsoft guns inner barrel is time well spent. With silicon oil and brasso LESS IS MORE! Be sure you run paper strips in and out until they come out clean and dry. Be especially careful not to let the brasso come in contact with your hop up rubber. Be sure to use pure silicon oil NOT WD 40 or oils with abrasive, pourous solvents,

incidently BRASSO was in common use within the military to polish and shine brass and is an iconic memory from my days in the military.

I have heard washing your unused bbs before use adds accuracy. Does anyone have experience with this?

That frankly sounds like a lot of work and would require tiny sponges and little hands.

There are some posts on airsoftsniperforum.com that involve two main ways: 1. Put them in a Tupperware container, mix in some degreasing soap, mix, then rinse. Or 2. Put bbs in a sock, tie off sock, put through laundry (sounds kinda crazy to me) Apparently washing bbs removes the mold release agent that is still on the bbs when they ship it to them.

I have a feeling that this wouldn't be the best thing for bio bbs.

No, I don't think so either. I bet if you used them immediately after washing it wouldn't be too bad, but don't store them after washing.

I see. But here we have to use bio bbs, so washing them might be too much of a hassle in my area.

I was of course kidding with my post but Shifty that is actually quite interesting in terms of how one might go about it. It would be worth trying.

Going back to the original post, do you put the brasso and silicone on at the same time, or in a particular order?

I would suggest you use one or the other but in my case initially I used a tiny amount of silicon and continued to run paper towel patches until they came out clean and dry. Then a couple days later I decided to try a dap of Brasso and that was really made the noticeable difference. Again start with a dap of brasso on a strip of paper towel and then ran clean paper strips until all the black is gone. (several reps typically).
I finished doing all my guns this week (i have over 40 airsoft guns) so it was time consuming but therapeudic and they all tested out nicely. Because Brasso is a solvent be especially careful not to ram it down to the hop up rubber.
