I lost the front sight to my ICS M1 Garand. It mite be in my garage but if I cant find it, Id like to know where I could possibly get a new one. Would an original M1 Garand sight work?

Probably, if it doesn't fit right off the bat, some filing may get it to work.

If I were home I would have an answer for whether an actual front site could be used. I have an ICS Garand and perhaps four front sites laying around. I am however fairly certain that the ICS site is somewhat oversized (as is everything on the ICS front gas assembly.). Finding that part is no doubt going to be challenging. Assuming you don't find it an actual site with some tweaking could probably be epoxied on and with filler and detail work be made to work.

Found it! It was on my driveway. I have no idea how it got there...

Like the real front site it is held in place by a pressure bolt. To prevent its loss in the future I would suggest you put a little epoxy at the contact insuring of course that it is perfectly aligned before it sets up. There is no reason I can think of to want to remove it so this might keep it from popping off again. I sent your email a group of pictures showing the size differences between a real Garand front site and the ICS sight. They are definitely different. Glad you found it!

IIRC underneath the front site of the ICS M1 Rifle is a small set screw which holds the front end together. If the front sight is expoxied on and for some reason that set screw comes loose you'll have a heck of a time tightening up the front end.
I only metion this because my ICS M1 Rifle was in one of those repro Grisowld Bags that allow an assembled M1 inside. It was rainy at OP Woodman last year and the Griswold Bag got soaked. When I got home and removed the rifle there was a bit of of tug of war to get the rifle out due to the canvas shaping itslef around the muzzle. The end result was the front end came off.
