never mind I found the answer. The Name of our unit is 3rd Kompanie, Fallschirmjager Pionier Batallion 1 (3./Fallschirm Pi Btl 1). The German Fallschirmjager or paratrooper was one of the finest soldiers to ever be on a battlefield. The German Pionier or Combat Engineer was an effective shock troop trained in both infantry tactics and engineering with the resulting pionier soldiers having knowledge of demolitions, emplacements and more. Our unit was founded in January 2000 by the original 5 members. Two Members had years of experience reenacting World War II in other units, two other Members had years of experience reenacting American Civil War. The decision to form this new unit, rather then try to join existing units was based on the central location of all members. Our goal was and still is to "Do it right." We are not interested in having a huge unit, if we grow in size then so be it, but we will not compromise our standards to gain new members. Our impression is always improving, we are ever pursuing the goal of accurately portraying a gruppe size Pionier unit, within the 3rd Kompanie, Fallschirm Pionier Bataillon 1. We have been active since January 2001, attending tactical & living history events on the east coast. In June 2001 our unit and the Luftlande Sturm Regiment, commanded by Willi Zahn, formed Kampfgruppe Martz. The formation of this Kampfgruppe gives us greater flexibility in tacticals plus a larger resource base to pull from when putting on authentic displays, bivoaucs etc. Our unit was formed with the intention of accurately portraying the Fallschirmjäger - Pionier (German Airborne Combat Engineer) in World War II. This is a non-political unit. We portray the average World War II German airborne soldier. We DO NOT support or CONDONE any activities of any Neo-nazi, KKK, White Supremacist organizations, any extremist, or anti-American organizations. We are a living history group that enjoys WW2 history and recreate by living example the experiences of the WW2 combat soldier.
