I bought a Swiss/Swedish tunic from Cpt. Zak at the July 8th event, and I am planning to turn it into an Italian Alpini impression. I painted the buttons, and it is coming along perfectly. Here is the picture of what I have thus far: the tunic I am trying to get it to look like is this one: I'm not sure if anybody knows this, but I'll ask anyways, did the Italian Alpini wear Italian camo pants? I would like to give a very large thanks to Cpt. Zak for perhaps the best quality product I have in my posession!

Looks good so far. It just makes me want to do my greek impression so much more. Especially since we used trench coats! But good job and good luck.

you need buttons on the pockets, (easy enough) and the belt, and that wicked sweet hat lol.

yeah, It still needs a bit of work. I need to remove one button, becuase on the italian one there is only 3. The hat alone could go for over $250. There is one on ebay for $30, I'll fight to the end for it, but I have lost alot fo bids on ebay.

Looking good so far. You may want to get rid of those plastic buttons and get some metal buttons. That way when you paint them, the paint will scartch off to reveal the metal button underneath...not the green plastic one.
The color of the tunic is a great match too! Makes me wish I bought more of these when I had the chance. A lot of guys wanting to do Italian impressions and I only have one tunic left.
As far as the number of buttons...I don't yhink having 4 instead of 3 would really impact the impression. It's a big job eliminating and rearraging buttons. I say stick with 4, just swap out the plasic buttons. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Good idea, I'm having trouble finding the difference between Alpini and Paratrooper buttons. They must have different designs. I have a rather odd question, what is the length and width of the Tanaka Kar 98K magazines? I want to see how many mags I can fit in a Carcano ammo pouch.

I need the shoes with hobnails, the pants, but I will probably pick up a swiss pair for $5, and I should replace the buttons. I also need basically all the gear, but that won't be too hard. My gun will be my birthday present.
