haha. speaking of uboats today i saw the u505 at the museum of science in chicago ( i've been there on vacation the past few days) very nice impression

gordaks right it was a type VII. it was a very cool experience and they did a great job refurnishing it. i wasnt allowed to take pics of the inside because the tour didnt allow it but i got some great shots of it from the outside. ill try to make a thread with it when i get the time

It is, it was issued to german units, and seemed to have been very popular with the 12th SS.

Indeed it is M29. Personally I love the m29 camo. So I use it in my HJ impression I bought this pant off ebay, LOL it is short actually and I can barely tuck it in the gaiters...... mauser your sig ROX!

The U-505 is a type IX not a type VII like the U-96 from Das boot. The Type IX is the larger ocean going type that frequently attacked shipping on the US east coast. Type VII's where not well suited for such a long voyage and operated most frequently around England and in the Mediterranean.
