So, since the one iconic thing about the Imperial Japan Army/Navy is the bayonet. And sadly the fact that no body makes a rubber bayonet that can be safely used in fields. I decided to make one, so I don't have to stab my enemies using the real one. Here it is, completed with plastic sheets and the all powerful electric tape and a donated wood grips/screw set from an actual one. I later decided to wrap the blade in tape as well to make it softer on the outside. Bayonet is made to last ditch specs as best as I could without measuring an actual one. While not "good", it's passable and I am going to abuse the applesauce out of it by taking it around fields anyway. If it breaks I can make another one pretty good or repair it as well. The biggest screw up I did was made the end of the grip slightly larger than it should have been. My biggest regret while making this thing. It locks onto the barrel pretty tight around the lock ring. The bayonet lug doesn't have a loc kmechanism since I had no idea how to make one with the tools and materials I have. Another thing is that it's slightly slated when hooked onto the gun. Sorry for potato quality photo!

very basic and very interesting but it looks like the bayonet would get in the way of bb's?

Yamato Damashi will guide my bullets. Seriously though, the blade itself is made sure to be clear of the bbs. And I always have the back up k98k bayonet when this one breaks. Going to only use this when the game is going to end, or starting if I have more than one life .

Cool project. Thank you for sharing. I made some ABS plastic bayonets for M1 Garands since the Field works bayonets are expensive and I didn't like the floppy rubber blades. I managed to buy a bunch of bayonet handles in rough rough shape on Ebay. Replaced the beat up handles with new wood and shaped the blades decently with a grinder, dremel and sander. Final paint details created a decent illussion.

Very cool. Nice to see a gap filled. 2nd Bat, I assume those bayonets you made were not safe to stab people with?
