Is there an equivalent version of Duetsche Soldaten for Allied troops? Mainly US?

I mean there is a book called Deutsche Soldaten by Agustin Saiz on the uniforms, equipment, and personal items of the german soldier from 1939-1945. Now what I am wondering is, is there a book (similar to the format of Deutsche Soldaten) that covers these categories for the American soldier.

The American soldier might have his ID Card and immunization records but nothing as detailed or completely thorough as the Soldaten booklet that all Germans carried. Incidently these booklets were a fabulous source of information for allied intelligence providing immediate intelligence with remarkable and trustworthy detail.

"The U.S. Army in World War II" by Mike R. Henry from Osprey Military gives an overview of uniforms, weapons, and organization. That's one to start with.
