I have started my alpini Impression. Sunday I won an alpini hat w/ plume and artillery badge. I got it for $77.00 and $92.00 with shipping. Tuesday I ordered a full alpini gear set for $155. It consist of the following. 1 alpini Rucksack w/ leather straps. 1 belt. 2 pairs of ammo pouches. A necksupport strap. A m29 shelter half. A shovel. A bayonet frog. A gas mask, a filter, and a m33 gas mask bag. A canteen. And last but not least a alpini drop down rope used for climbing and repelling.Next I plan on getting a Swiss tunic and a pair of pants and modify them into an Italian M40 tunic and a pair of pantaloons. I then will get a pair of mountain boots and a Italian blanket. The uniform, boots, and blanket will cost $150 all together. That will be my Alpini 3rd Julia 3rd Artillery Regiment impression untill christmas or my birthday.

I got my hat yesterday and it is awesome i am waiting to get my gear before I psot photos I am also ordering my swiss uniform some boots and a pair of puttees

See, what did I say, the Alpini hat is the coolest piece of uniform ever devised! What color is your nappine? These are what the colors of each nappine mean, to my understanding:
White = 1° battaglione
Red = 2° battaglione (medical?)
Green = Artillery: 3° battaglione
Blue = Engineer / AT: 4° battaglione
Yellow = Regimental Staff

lol I posted after you did. Nice hat! and canteen  !! So by Alpini standards you are technically artillery and in 3rd batallion. |

That impression is coming along nicely! All you need is a Swiss tunic to convert. I have one left. ;D The Luftwaffe field shirts will also work for the blue italian ones. If you and SPitfire want to change the buttons I can get silver pebble grained buttons. They will look better than simply painting the Swiss buttons gold.

That's a great idea, Jeff! I placed a bid for 40 Italian ww2 era buttons (going for $10.00  ) but I got outbid...of course... Again, nice set pimp! That is one hell of a deal you got that for! I'm soooo jealous  . I can't wait to see your set-up at the event! |
