I have been looking into alcohol propulsion with a piezzo electric ignition, you know like clic-clic gizmo that lights up the grill. It is noisy, shoots quite far, and it need very little gear to be taken in the field. You charge the round with a table spoon of ordinary rubbing alcohol, which you keep in a little botle, much the same size as a speed loader for bb's. This I have to build before I can estimate if if can handle any payload, such as talc or bbs. Soda bottle are plenty pressure proof for the purpose, but then the bore gets to be around 80mm, and not the sleek 40mm for a PAK36 or M3 37mm. I have, however, figured out how to make a real moveable breech lock (containing the +/- electric wires, much like the original bazooka)and designed a shell+charge that can very easily be preloaded by the assistant gunner. Cheap, weightless, compact and abundant propellant, any sodabottle as ammo(specialised ones with talc and stuff)- now the question: Are those benefits worth a little realism? I'll tweak the design so the same gun can be used for German, US, British and Russian gamers, only the charateristic front shield are changed. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuz0curb_hg&list=UUFtc3XdXgLFwhlDajMGK69w

As with any spud gun or gas propellant type gizmo. Be sure your materials (tubing, connections and all fittings) are pessure rated to withstand what they are going to be subjected to. Otherwise your device is quite dangerous, incidently they are dangerous enough as you can see by the removed tree bark and hole in the cars fender.
I would be particularly concerned about the spark activated devices powered by ignited gases. The air pressure ones using the tire pump. (you can also use a co 2 cartridge with an adapter) because they are not flammable seem much safer.
Clearly a bazooka or panzerfaust device could be created quite convincingly.

I would be wary of using a flammable propellant. I know that one of our members a while back had the headlight on his armored car smashed from an overcharged round. Using CO2 canisters at least gives you a more consistent pressure that you can rely on.

The flame aspect while cool is also a concern (or at least it would be for me!). The piston gun intrigued me although truthfully I'm still sort f trying to get my head around it? Clearly a panzerfaust fashioned around the design seems quite feasible. The howitzer that shoots the large howler nerf shell is my favorite.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfIztG88tp4Something like this seems to be the same idea as Efrimann. It appears to have no real flame, besides the minimal amount at ignition. BUT, it is still technically flammable. When it all comes down to it, it looks like the plastic bottle is way to light to be a useful rocket. I think I will build one for noise and fun.

Cosmetically the mortar could be done up a lot nicer and I like the functionality but My concern is how limited the range would be. The water bottle in my opinion would just be too light. Also without fins it would not fly very straight
