Do you guys have any suggestions on cleaning a M40 wool uniform? I'm planing to get all the right insignia but I don't wont to take it to the cleaners and have some guy see a unifrom with swastikas and piss on it, ect.

You don't clean them, whats the point. You are a frontline soldat, they didn't have cleaners while in battle. If any mud or dirt gets on it use a stiff hand brush and brush it off. The dirtier the better!

Its just the red clay in GA we have. It can stain.

Take is to the dry cleaners. If you wish to wash it at home, the ONLY way you will want to wash it will be in a bucket of cold water with your hands and then let it air dry (you could still experience some shrinking like this though). Never stick it in the washer or dryer unless you want it to shrink and ball up.

how about just take off as much red clay with a brush and geting the rest off just by weting it down? Think that will work?
