Scott, IF I am able to get loaner gear to Graham, I will make sure to send along my US overcoat, but it would probably be best not to count on it.

Don't plan on using a gas gun. I tried to use my PPS k98 last winter, and even hooked up to a remote line, it still was getting barely 250fps.

I've heard the Co2 cartridges for the G&G Kar98 would work fine in the cold.

I don't rely on my CO2 blowback 1911 in the winter seeing as last year it messed with the recoil and turned it into a submachine gun. So just don't rely on a gas gun as your primary

I've heard the Co2 cartridges for the G&G Kar98 would work fine in the cold. My CO2 Carbine was rendered ineffective for last years Bulge. Take my advice and leave it home. Springers and AEG's with extra batteries are the order of the day

Thats the thing, and I even reasked the question on another airsoft forums earlier today, Co2 Bolt should work in the cold. Its not a blow back and there are barely any moving parts.
Its kind of moot at this point though... It should have arrived at customs, and by the time they are done, handed off to USPS, USPS to deliver it, it will be past the game weekend anyway...

IMPORTANT NEWS!!! The Following is not intended to offend anyone, it is the cold hard facts about this forth coming event and what needs to happen REAL SOON. Nate and I had a very long conversation today, battle scenarios, game rules, lunch break menu, etc. But most of all, ATTENDANCE!!! I usually don't like lists, and again this is not a reason to offend or single anyone out, but I need all players who plan on attending to STEP UP, PRE-PAY AND REGISTER. As of right now, 19:47hrs EST, on 10 January, 2015 I have only received registrations form the following players: ShiftysGarand
Dracul and his Wife
Jacob Douglas (Dracul's friend)
Brownien (Nate)
Pat Brown (Nate's brother)
Joe Migs
Dean Migs
Grant Migs
Scott Varesio
That's a grand total of 10 with 40% belonging to me and 20% belonging to Nate. Not good gentlemen. Previously I have stated that I have a target number for this event to go on, and 10 is not it. In fairness to all those who have already committed to attending, Nate and I feel a minimum number of at least 15 players are needed to make this event worth it, and to additionally be fair to those traveling great distances to attend. Besides my crew traveling 4-5 hours, Dracul and his party are coming from I believe the Maryland, Virginia area. I also believe ShiftysGarand is coming from far away as well. So let's be reasonable here. Let's all commit to those who have already committed. So our situation is desperate but not hopeless. The following names below are those who have communicated on this thread that they are coming, wanting to come, in need of loaner gear or guns or are trying to make arrangements to come. Also, they may have communicated with Nate or myself and I'm putting them on the maybe list. Point here is that if I (and we) can hear back from the following players, I'll be able to make a definitive decision over the next few days. I need to hear back from the following players: (either PM, email me or just post here) Jerry-ADK Scott Collins LSSAH1944 (Graham and Dad) PatricI29th (I think it's Pat from NJ (I believe he's Graham or Intersburger's Friend) Tom Villani Sherplunket. So again, this is not a "calling out" list, but I do feel that these players need to know that this event can not afford to just sit back and wait any longer for anyone to register at their convenience. So what does this all mean? What it means is unless I hear back and get pre-pay registrations from at least 5 more players, I'm pulling the plug by noon Tuesday 13 January, 2015. It pains me to post this and I want nothing more than to co-host this event with Nate, but Nate and I are in complete agreement that in fairness to all, we need a deadline and we need commitments. What's the old saying? Money talks.....B.S. Walks. Let's commit fellas and let's all get together and shoot each other next weekend. Looking forward to hearing back from you all, Migs

I do, I have 2 guns, I will probably use my mp40 so you could borrow my springer k98 if you plan on going German. or we can switch if you want full auto.

Alright, after a trip to the surplus store, I can supply 3 German uniform and gear kits on Saturday (Sunday, I plan on going German). Just the kits, our whole weapon situation is still up in the air. Uniforms are mostly medium, that are big enough to just fit a smaller large. The gear kits are going to be extremely spread thin. I'm talking bare bone minimum here. Just a belt, suspenders, ammo pouches, and non appropriate canteen (Czech m60 canteen).
I'm literally trying my best to put together these kits. I'm running a ragtag operation down here. I might have more in time, might be able to add breadbags and add appropriate canteen cups and straps to mask up the Czech canteens, but for now, this is what I have.

Well done Gentlemen.
Got Scott Collins and Jerry-ADK registrations and prepay last night. Let's hope the others read the post and understand the urgency. As of right now I have the following players and what sides their on:
101stAB U.S. Infantry Scottish Impression (I think)
Joe Migs Jacob Douglas Dracul Dean Migs Tracy Grant Migs Scott Varesio Scott Collins ShiftysGarand Pat Brown
German Flexible
Jerry-ADK Nate Brown
So here's an obvious issue. Not enough Germans to kill yet. There appears to be a need for some players right now to switch sides for balance. If and when Graham and his Dad register, that will give us two more Germans. But we still need some volunteers to switch over to the German side.

Migs, it's going to be touch and go, but if ***(and that's a big if)*** I can coordinate with Graham I can get plenty of FULL German kits into the field, including some cold weather gear (one repro Greatcoat, one set of winter parka/pants, and an East German greatcoat, plus lots of field caps and a few toques). Would need to know just exactly how many kits you would need, and who would be wearing it, and would have to have some protocol in place for loss/damage (normal wear an tear I'm OK with, I'm talking major stuff). Let me know, trying to do what I can to help this event without overpromising, will do my best.

We were really hoping to do Allies (wife: US Corpsman, me: Scottish) on day 1 and Germans on day 2, but since we'll have both impressions with us, put me and my wife down as "Flexible". We can do a last minute side switch if need be.

If everyone hasn't booked their hotels yet and have a lot of people staying or a lot of gear, the Super 8 Amsterdam, is 80 a night, and offer double bed rooms for that price, and its under 15 minutes away. Thats what me and my guys are doing.
On that note, my last guy, should be registering soon.
Keep me posted if you guys still want me to bring my German loaner kits.

I don't want to speak for Migs, but you should bring your German stuff. Even if it works out that they don't need you to switch sides, it will be highly probable that the kits will be useful. For me to get my loaner gear to Graham I will have to be able to drive it out to his route (or only slightly off it) at the time when he will be heading up, and then be able to similarly rendezvous on his way back down. Hoping that can happen, but not counting on it.

I was thinking more on the extra kits. Because the wife and I were going to have our own German kits to switch over on sunday.
But with that known, I'll definitely bring the extra kits. My wife has her flakhelfer kit, but I'm not going to speak for her if she wouldn't mind loaning that out (to someone of the same size, haha). So, thats three loaner kits, if I'm not using one myself.
Loaner German guns? Best I'll be able to offer is a half decent springer Kar98 and a good Kar98. It will blow my mind if my G&G one comes in on time. And the MP40 I just bought from Fishmeok is being shipped Wednesday, so I highly doubt that it will come in time. That second Kar98 is going to be extremely last minute job, the donor rifle is coming in tomorrow and the Dboys Kar98 comes in on Thursday. I really hope USPS comes through a day early.
UPDATE: I was just told the MP40 should be in by or on friday. So, with a bit of luck, it will come in time. With a lot more, that Dboys Kar98 will come in on wednesday. If not, Thursday night is going to be a long, long night. Especially since I won't be able to dremel past certain hours.
FURTHER UPDATE: Looks like the Mp40 will get here on Thursday!

Event is a Go!
Well Done Everyone. Our numbers are good and I'm getting in some unexpected Registrations and pre-pays. Just a reminder to those out there who have only registered and have not pre-paid. You will be charged $45.00 at the field. So take advantage of the discount. In fairness to everyone else who has prepaid, there will be no exceptions.
Having said that, I'm very proud of the way all those interested have stepped up and do what we needed to make this happen.
Just a reminder that field report time is 08:30hrs. Everything will move in a timely fashion. The more time we waste meandering around, the less time there will be for play. So please be on time and ready to go.
As a time saving method I like to use, I try to have all of my mags loaded and gear ready to go before I arrive at the field. Once there I just need to put batteries in the guns, put the gear on and I'm ready to go. The more prepared you are before you get to the field, the better. Just food for thought.
So if you have any concerns or questions prior to Friday night, please PM me here or email me at SfcMigs@gmail.com. If you need to contact me after that, call my cell @ 516-521-4343. If I don't pick up, leave a voice mail and I'll get back to you asap.
Looking forward to the weekend,
Migs

So, do we have an updated roster of who is on what side? You can put me down as flexible. We have 17 total players right now. With you and Tracy going German, along with Nate, the breakdown would be: U.S. Ten Germans: Seven So you really need to flip over. Hopefully some new registrations will come in and hopefully those will be German.
