Those Euro sizes are confusing correct? Here is a way to make your Side(overseas) cap or M43 cap fit. If your cap fits around you head but doesn't have that "German peak" You should dip the TIP, not the whole thing, in in ice cold water. Then pinch the top together with your thumb and fore finger and let it dry on your head. If your cap is too big you should try first get a BIG bowl and put ice water in it. Then get a pot and boil some water. Dunk the cap in the ice water, fish it out, then put it in the HOT water. Wring out the excess water and put it on you head until it is dry. If it still doesn't fit, try the "stitch trick" explained in this helpful diagram. This will work with overseas style caps and M43s. The M43 will just have a bill you have to mess with. Diagram by Capt. Zak Here are some examples on how a cap should look like when done. Be cocky put a tilt on it! www.panzerworld.net/pictures/wschumacher00021.jpg www.panzerworld.net/pictures/wschumacher00024.jpg www.nrk.no/img/479977.jpeg The shrink method and stitch trick are from Capt. Zak.

In that last pic, it looks like the cap doesnt have the peak that you mention. Also, I believe that the caps were also called 'side caps'. I've heard that the tilt to the side was required in both the US and German armies. Can anyone else verify this?
