Hello everyone! I'm sure someone has asked this before but I just wanted to know if anyone here knows where I can get in contact with someone/someplace that makes MP44 muzzle nuts. I just recently got a Javelin MP44 (apparently slightly better made then AGM version) and the guy I got it from told me all of his MP44's are missing the muzzle nuts. Just bare threads showing which is really annoying because I at least woulda liked a crappy orange tip on it. I had no idea this part was sort of rare or hard to find, at least for me anyway google yields few results if any. A real one won't work because the threads are CW (right hand thread) and the airsoft version is CCW (left hand thread) from what I have read. Would something like this work? It's 14mm so I am not 100% sure if it will work but it's CCW which should be left hand thread? www.ebay.ca/itm/Airsoft-CNC-Machined-14mm-CCW-Thread-Protector-/131046454446Heck if anyone knows of anything that will work I'll look into it, maybe an MP40 tip? I didn't want it to look farb but at this point I'm running out of options, anything is better than threads showing.

That appears to be your solution but a bit spendy for what it is. It is a custom piece and anodized aluminum so perhaps over engineered for your needs. When in need of such parts I go to a local supplier that specializes in bolts nuts screws and unusual hardware needs. It is called Tacoma Screw but I am sure there are similar companies near you. Ideally you can tell them just what you need (threads, size etc.) but sometimes you have to bring in the part that needs fitting (awkward when its weapons related). They have been a godsend numerous times on assorted needs and in their case also have an amazing assortment of springs, tubes and hardware that has helped with a multitude of my bizarre needs and relative to other sources are very cheap. Good luck with it!

That's a good suggestion! I'm not sure if I have ever heard of something like that being around here (Canada) but I can only assume there is so I'll have a look around, it may just do the trick.
If anybody else has more solutions/suggestions for this I'm all ears!

A specilized hardware for commercial suppliers no doubt is around you somewhere?

There was someone selling black replacement nuts for both StG44 and MP40 on the boards a while ago. I never had the funds and the momentum to pull the trigger on one, but if he's still selling them I would be in the market for a few myself.

Hello you could get any metal flash hider second hand and just cut it to 10-15mm long so you have just enough of it left to cover the thread on the barrel,I know you won't have the grooves but maybe you could file some,to make it look better.I have looked at an m4 one,but that has deep grooves that are turned on the lathe,so they face the wrong way compared to the mp44 style. At least it could be the cheapest way to cover the thread.

I still make the black plastic muzzle nuts for the STG44 and MP40. Send me a PM with your direct email address and we can correspond.

Actually just sprang for one of BigBoy's pieces. What can I say, $20 might seem a lot for a little plastic piece, but it is "right" and not "OK at a glance." Even orange ones are pretty unfindable, so I think the price is right, especially since it was shipped wicked fast. Probably more than I'd spend to upgrade from a painted out orange one, but others with deeper pockets may beg to differ, and you will not be disappointed. I will definitely buy another if the need arises.

Yeah I've been meaning to buy one of those. At the moment I have electrical tape wrapped around the muzzle of my MP40 and I've been meaning to get the muzzle nut. However the price is foreboding to be honest. I may buy some PVC and use a threader I'll be getting for my grenade project, then adding some grooves somehow.

When one considers the funds invested in the tooling and the time to do the job correctly and make an exact copy of WWII muzzle nuts, my costs are not out of line. As they say, "You get what you pay for."
