Hi guys,
Well im located in the UK and there dont seem to be huge numbers of WW2 impressions around though there are a few. Personally I am undecided as to which impression to choose. The two I am interested in are a Gebirgsjager or a Luftwaffe field division impression - both probably gefrieter or obergefrieter in rank and 1943 as the year.
I already have a Tanaka G33/40 which would clearly go perfectly with a Gebirgsjager impression and I believe would fit well with the irregular and poorly equipped Luftwaffe field units which were thrown together almost in desperation when the manpower crunch really hit home.
The Gebirgsjager attract me as they have fairly standard uniforms but get to wear the cool edelweiss insignia and by all reports aquitted themselves generally very well throughout the war.
The Luftwaffe field divisions attract me because of their irregularity - ex-bomber pilots with no planes to fly, engineers with no planes to fix, flak gunners who had to abandon their artillery in the retreat from Russia and any other poor joe they could find given an obsolete rifle and sent to the front. Also I very much like the Luftwaffe splinter camo smocks!
I certainly cant afford to do both impressions so I was wondering whether you guys could encourage me either way?

Hey Sidearm; Ben here. Glad to hear you're interested in putting together an impression. Go ahead and PM (Personal Message) okay. I have tons of uniforms and would be more than happy to put together a great and very affordable uniform for ya'! Who knows; you might be able to get em' both after I'm done with ya'! Ha-Ha!
