Hey guys, i been looking for scopes recently but i can't seem to find ANY scopes that would work w/ my Tanaka K-98. By that i mean the authenticity and genuine-ness...(srry) the ZF-41 scope is weak as hell and i really need a stronger scope. So, anyone know where to get one? thanks.

why would you need a stronger scope, we are talking about airsoft right? You will be looking down targets and your bb's will drop, or curve, or get taken away by the wind if you use a stronger scope. I would say just use your crosshairs on the gun, if you can see the target with your own eyes and its fairly large, your k98 will most likely be able to hit it, in a shot or 2.

200-300 feet is your maximum range to hit a man size target in 1-3 shots. A stronger scope is good to have for observation but the scope you have is authentic in what the German soldier had to use in WW2.

If your gun is shooting 510-550fps your maximum should be 300ft at 550'ish fps. At 200 feet I could hit a mansized target almost every time with 1-3 shots. I should have said 300ft is going to be the maximum you will hit anything and even then they will not feel it if it hits them most of the time because the round has lost so much energy. 300ft is really an anyone's guess if it will hit your target I have never seen someone make a confirmed 300' shot onto anything of man size.

Dan,
I like your rotating avatars selections! And I agree totally with your reality check on airsoft "Snipers" Three shot "kills" at 200 feet by a skilled shooter with a good rifle should splash water on some of the redicuklous airsoft sniper fantasys out there.

I have the Tanaka "ZF41", but I don't play as a sniper, but as normal rifleman. I plan on disguising it a little with PVC tubing and paint when I have the time and we get rolling more WWII games.
Optically, the Tanaka can be even better than the real ZF41, that was fairly bad quality and only 1'2x, but it's purpose was not sniping but to help good shooters to be a little better. And probably the first mass produced sharpshooter scope. And they are getting very expensive fast. Around 100$ the sun shades and around 300$ the scope itself WITHOUT the mount.
