I've got a couple projects hung on how to attach the rear sights on VSR10/Bar 10s. These are the rear leaf type sights for Kar 98's. I've tried epoxy and it doesn't seem to grip very well on the metal tube. I'm a bit leery of drilling through it and using screws since the bolt is underneath. Anybody have any tricks?

I drill some partial holes and insert some tiny screws taking care not to drill through. I drill some counter sink holes in the base of the ladder site so the jb weld has some bite. If that isn't practical then I dremel some grooves in both surface to provide some additional bite.

A product similar to JB Weld or silicon based adhesive (Caulking I think you guys call it). Silicone types are usually used for moist locations such as boats and bathrooms. Silicone has, for lack of a better term, a kind of suction property to it from it's flexible nature. Plus you can use it to fill any gaps that pop up. Molest your rear sight base/barrel until it matches the shape of your VSR reciever and apply your bonding agent of choice. Don't forget to ensure rear sight is TDC or else!
