Hello all,
I bought the new S&T M1903 a few days ago and I need some help getting it to function. Basically right out of the box the gun didn't work. But because I really don't feel like dealing with sending I back I would like to try to fix it or upgrade it myself. But I could really use some help
The trigger is completely soft and the bolt doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. I took the gun apart and made sure everything was tight but that didn't help.
If anyone is willing to lend me their knowledge that would be great! I can provide pictures and details. Thanks..
Fred

Can you rack the bolt and actuate all the safety functions?

I agree that if you can fix it yourself and avoid The hassle of a return you should do so.
So can you draw the bolt back and forward okay but it doesn't catch? Your description really doesn't provide much clarity about what it is doing or not doing. One owner who was having issues with cocking had too much tension with the screws that go into the sides of the stock. When you removed the internals of the stock did you try functioning everything without any potential interference from the stock?

I can move the bolt back but it doesn't seem to be moving the spring at all. It's also getting stuck when I go to push it back in and making a popping noise. I took the safety on the bolt off but it was working

If you can move the bolt but it doesn't cock, that suggests a trigger box problem. Sounds like the sears are not moving into their proper place. Can you remove the trigger mechanism and provide a description of what you see? Pictures would be great.
