I am wondering how to get the airsoft mg42 bipod to stop swiveling so much. I am talking about the version that's like $500 in most shops. I see on the real ones it does not swivel as easy as it does with the airsoft one. It's hard to pick up the airsoft version then quickly set it down without the bipod twisting around in such a way that you have to pause to set it straight before being able to fire. Has anyone come up with a way to stop the bipod from swiveling so much? I mean I guess I could find a real mg42 bipod to replace it but... I'd rather go for a small fix to the one I have. Any suggestions?

I have a real MG42 and a machine shop. Would pictures of a real bi-pod help? Perhaps I can be of help in fixing/modifying your bi-pod. PM me your direct email address and we can discuss.

Clearly the fit tolerances on the replica are not as precise as a real one. The ring around the bipod is probably a bit bigger than it should be. My suggestion is remove it and apply a band or two of cloth tape around the barrel until the bipod fits snug. It will swing less and be quieter when moving.
