So..I'm stuck trying to figure out which heavy parka and trousers to get. I'm leaning toward the mouse gray/white version for all around use, but the Splinter parka is just sooooooo sexy. Already having all the cool SS camo has corrupted me. I am leaning more toward the mouse gray since the trousers can be worn with my SS Oak A parka when I'm wearing that uniform.

Nah. I'm a complete gear/gun whore. Half the fun in airsoft is the dress-up part. It's all about the gear!! ;D

Being a gear whore myself, my first instinct was to back you up there, ripper. However, after thinking about it for a little bit, would the average Heer soldat have gotten his hands on winter camoflauge regularly? I honestly don't know to much about German QM practices in the war, so this is as much a question as an argument. If no, then it seems that in the interest of accuracy, over coolness, a bed sheet or improvised camoflauge system would be better. However, if the average Soldat would have gotten his hands on winter gear relativly easily, then ignore me. ;D

The average soldat froze his nuts off while wearing a summer uniform in the middle of Russian winter!!! That part of history is one I don't intend to recreate. Now that spring is almost here, I'm probably going to wait on the winter gear. The stuff was on sale is the only reason I considered getting it now.

You could allways get a greatcoat, should be more authentic, cause it was more likely to be had than any winter parka.

I do have an early war, green collared tunic that would work well with a greatcoat for early war scenarios. For later war play, I'll probably go with a mouse gray, medium weight parka with my gray collared tunic. I already have a heavy weight parka in marsh pattern and it is really bulky. Great for standing guard duty, but sucky for playing airsoft.
