Hello everyone, I am considering getting one of the cheap Cyma M2's to convert to look like an M1 to use in a display. My question is do you who already own one of these guns see a feasible way to attach either a real steel M1 mag or a replica mag (Like this www.marshallsarsenal.com/shop/m1-carbine-dummy-magazines)? I know about converting the mag it comes with but I think that looks tacky for display. I'd like to make it removable but could settle with a permanent attachment.
Thanks guys.

Thats a great question. If I had to guess I'd say a real mag is a tad too wide but wont know till I get home at month end. Volks could probably check it out for us all?

I tried it with a R/S 15 rd. mag. It's real tight, but it will go in. It looks like it's spreading the plastic a little. It won't seat as deeply as it should, so you'd have to trim it down to the right length. Also, you'd have to cut a notch in the mag for the magazine catch.

Awsome! i thought you'd know! Obviously for display purposes this night be worthwhile. I go to pretty extreme efforts to make the magazines look right cosmetically once shortened but of course they are never going to be perfect.

The M2 banana clips once shortened have the wrong exterior designs to effectively replicate the WW2 look but once shortened you can use resin paste to fill the incorrect contours. Sand thouroughly, cut in appropriate grooves and then paint. This approach is time consuming (especially when you do it on all your converted mags). But if done well come out looking pretty darn good. an actual mag will have to be shortened to insure it protrudes the right amount and the speration of the two stock halves ruin their look and might effect the guns functionality. (in my opinion)
Visually I am not sure you'll come out ahead much (if at all)
