So, when you cock back the bolt and let it go, the bolt just shoots forward like a slingshot. It turns out the piston lock loop is bent too far forward (because it's made out of crappy pot metal) and is not locking the piston. Hence, the trigger can't be pulled.
The one on the the right is the stock, bent piston lock loop.
I saw that evike.com has a King Arms piston lock for the Mosin-Nagant that's made out of steel and meant to replace the crappy stock one. I immediately ordered it and was hopeful.
Here is the link: www.evike.com/products/54569/
Upon installation, it turns out that it isn't compatible with the S&T, although the description on evike.com clearly boasts, "Compatibility: King Arms Mosin Nagant rifles and other compatible Nagant Airsoft rifles." Hmmmm, besides Zeta-Lab, Accuracy Fire and S&T, the only other Mosin-Nagant available is the Redfire PPS one, which now they decided to throw King Arms into the mix, calling it "King Arms Redfire Nagant." You can just disregard Zeta-Lab and Accuracy Fire, because they have been gone so long. This part was obviously not manufactured for those brands. It HAS to have been manufactured for the Redfire and S&T (as I have assumed).. But apparently not.
Anyways, the reason why it's not compatible is because the hole in the middle of the perpendicular loop is way too big. The bolt does lock back, but now the trigger is stuck! The piston cannot clear the hole! Upon comparison to the stock part, the hole in the stock part is WAY smaller.
So, I come here with the question.. Is there anything I can do? Or is my Nagant doomed to be a wall hanger? Please let me know. Thanks!
