So the early war German great coat had the bottle green collar. Was that bottle green just on the showing surface or on the underside as well. I looked for pictures of guys with their collars turned up but no luck.

The ones I have seen have all had it just on the showing surface.

Wow that was fast! I knew I could count on quick input here. I am trying to make my Swedish Great coat more authentic. I am replacing buttons what else should I do?

The M40 greatcoat was all Feldgrau, just like the M40 tunic. According to ATF, both were produced before the start of the war. They also would be seen throughout the war, so an m40 is probably your best bet as you can do anything from invasion of Poland to battle of Berlin.

The color on my Swedish Great coat is obviously off somewhat but with exposure to the element it will work for my purposes.
