A family member maybe and explain to them you reenact it.

Tomp40,
Do not take away from historical accuracy because of offending people. Im not saying go around marching in your neighborhood in uniform...but I wouldnt take off the insignia. Like kippy said let people know that you reenact it. If you want to go to a seamstress she could do them. Who did you purchase your uni from? Most vendors offer a sewing service...

Im afraid of offending people by the nature of the uniform being nazi related.. I would not worry about it. They are mature adults. You know what offends me? People who are easily offended. ;D

I sewed mine on by hand, and they came out ok. I'll probably resew the sleeve eagle when I get the chance though. Does anyone have a link to where it may explain how to properly hand sew on the bevo insignia, etc.? Just curious. Thanks!

First of all, you need to get yourself some INTERFACING, and apply it to the back of the BEVO patch; this will keep it from unravelling all over the place and provide a stiff backing. After you've applied it, just trim out the design, toss away the excess, and begin sewing just like any other patch. It's really quite simple. Just ask any seamstress or even someone in the sewing department at your local Wal-Mart. Good luck!--Ben

Do you have to stiffen it? I didn't do that with my tropical cap insigna. I just cut it out and sew'd it on. Is it gonna unravel with time?

Hi! I didn't want to make a new topic, so I ask this here: I am trying to find internet shops that sell Wehrmacht Feldgendarmie (military police) insignia. I found them once, but now I have lost that site. It would be good if the site would locate in Europe, but I every shop is welcome. Im especially looking for these two insignia: Orange sleave eagle whit swastika. And this style cap insignia (for M42 overseas cap and M43 field cap), only in orange Feldgendarmie color. OR Did FG use the same cap insignia in their M42/M43 hats like the soldiers in infantry? Thanks!

I will answer to my own questions:
I found the sleave eagle, no need for the shop info any more.
And the cap insignia in M/43 field cap was the same as the infantry had.

I got an idea for great photoshooting, where an MP would check out some soldiers papers before leaving to well deserved 2-week holiday to Berlin. And I have been allways interested in military police, hopely I will be one in 6 months.
+ If you have a "kettenhunde" organizing your scenarios parking lots etc. it would look ACE ;>

How does the nail polish work? Does it solidify the patch or something? Just curious, because it sounds like a good idea. Thanks!
