If you can get them cheaper and are worried about the black leather you could sand them down a little and make them brown again probally.

How would that make them brown exactly? And what would you say would be an average price for repro pouches?

If they are not dyed to deeply black the black may come off with sanding leaveing a raw leather which is brown. I think 25-40 bucks is about average for a set.
