For those of you that own M43 dot camo, do you wear shoulder boards and sleeve eagles on your tunics? I know that the early version of the tunic came with buttons and loops for shoulder boards but the uniform orders called for no insignia of any type. The later/production version of the uniform dropped the loops. My replica tunic has the shoulder loops and the boards look sharp on there, but I haven't sewn the eagle on yet. If the 'naked' look is the more accepted version, I'll remove the loops and go from there.

Whichever you feel comfartable to do. Early camouflaged M43 cut Drillichanzugs did use shoulderboards. These were dropped and only insignia were used, mind you the camo shoulder patches were used sometimes. Sometimes there was only a sleeve eagle, or the green camo rank stripes.

Hmmmm.....I may just have to get another tunic and have one of each. I've seen pictures of soldiers with not only the sleeve eagle and shoulder boards, but sleeve rank and collar tabs as well. Very sharp looking, but also violating every uniform regulation at the same time. ;D To be safe, I'll go eagles and boards on one, and 'slick' on the other.
