Does anyone have a "real" MP40 mag that they can compare to a TOP MP40 mag? I need to know if they are of the same dimensions. I'm hoping to use my TOP MP40 mags in an MP41(r) display gun. Any help is appreciated.

You do know a MP41R is a PPSH41 with a 9mm barral and MP40 mags? If you just want a display peace why not get a display PPSH with a solid receiver and work from there?

Wait an Mp-41 cant be a PPSH, the Mp-41 is an MP-40 with a wooden body, and the entire reciver group and body and sights are completely different than PPSH.
Oh and Cap.Zak does have a PPSH for display, I have seen it at games before.

theres a couple different mp41s. The mp40 with the wood stock and the ppsh thats chambered for 9mm and takes mp40 magazines

Hmm thats neat, I didnt know about the PPSH version, (shows ya how much I know about german stuff, Ill stick with the PTO till the 45th can get me up to speed lol) now question, was the PPSH MP-41 developed in the battlefield from the need to convert russian guns to use german ammo on the eastern front, or was this a model designed from the start to utilize the PPSH except with 9mm ammo.
I am quite curios to learn the developmental history and though process behind this version.

ROFL at TommyGunner. The MP41R is nothing more then a converted PPSH. The MP41 is a MP40 with a wood stock and the barral is a little different. MP41:  MP41R:  Its ok tommy gunner, you would have to study this stuff to know things like that... |

Of course I know. I am just trying to keep from buying a real MP40 mag. And I do have a display Ppsh-41. But I no longer do Russian so I want the MP41(r). Thanks for answering my question Gordak. |
