You will be sorry...that you spent 4x more and that the mags feed like crap. I paid less than the just the TOP gun itself. I got AGM MP40, 6 extra mags and a lipo battery with charger. Its cheaper, runs better stock, way way easier to upgrade, cheaper mags. Oh yes you will be sorry What is the body made of? Is it pretty much all metal? If so than I would be able to complete this impression faster. I'm still looking, I don't have the money to buy anything yet. If you recomend the AKM, I will probably get it.

Yes its metal, AGMs run great stock as well. The plastic parts are the handgrips and side panels but really MP40s were bakelite there, early form of plastic. The is a quide on here on how to paint it to make it look like bakelite.

Ostfront, Landser, Dutchies Militaria, etc sell decent breadbag stuffers. If you're looking for food in period containers w/labels go to reprorations.com or you can make them yourself, which is easy to do to with regular store bought items and similar to what reprorations does.
Ammo pouches and slings, both can be purchased from Military Tour for your MP40 needs. Although Doug combines shipping prices on your order it's better to purchase more than one item since he is in Canada. He also sells breadbag fillers too.
Breadbags...depends on which branch you want: blue = Luftwaffe, tan = Afrikakorps, olive drab and green (which should be faded a bit) = Heer/SS. And then you can decide which timeframe you want to focus your impression on: breadbags with leather on their straps are early war, without leather on their straps are from about 1940 and on, and there are those that have a separate pocket for a gun cleaning kit with appears at about 1944. The latewar version can be found at Ostfront, earlywar with leather on the straps at Bunker Militaria.
Shop around, combine your shipping and you will pay far less than just ordering one item at a time.
Hope that helps,
Mike

Too bad there isn't a readily available and reasonably priced K98. With the Chinese MP40s hitting the scene, there are going to be way too many submachine gun toting Germans (myself included). I heard rumor of a new K98 on the way. Can anybody confirm that?

I heard rumor of a new K98 on the way. Can anybody confirm that? I can't confirm anything, but I've heard some rumors of a spring Kar98k in development by the Chinese. I don't think there's anything going on as far as another gas version to compete with the Tanaka. I dunno if they scrapped the weapon though, because if they release one, I'll be picking it up!

I heard rumor of a new K98 on the way. Can anybody confirm that? I've heard the same rumor. To add further it's supposed to be a springer. I don't have my hopes up for it tho'. When someone says "springer" I immediately think that there will be no feeling to the gun...meaning, such as with GBB or an AEG you get a some sound and feeling of action. This helps with immersion imo. But...I could be wrong. If the new Mauser is a springer it may turn out to be a great gun. But I'll be damned if I shell out $400 plus for it...for that, I'll save cash up for the next run of MG34s or 42s. ;D Mike

I heard rumor of a new K98 on the way. Can anybody confirm that? I know the Tanaka K-98 isn’t a cheap gun by any means however; it is a very well built high quality Airsoft riffle. I think it is well worth the money to buy one! I have owned a good many Airsoft guns and I must say the K-98 has been the best I’ve owned. Also, the AGM MP-40 is a decent gun for the cost. Especially if you replace some of the internals in the gun!
