I'm having difficulty on which to go for. I understand that late in the war, most men would be wearing the low boots w/ gaiters, but I love the look of the jackboots so much. I know that some guys would have jackboots, it would not be unrealistic. I am prepared to pay a little extra for lost battalions boots. I know that most guys here say low boots and gaiters, but would I still look good if doing a mid-late war impression?

Well I would suggest 2 things, 1.) you can get jackboots for our unit though running in them can get painful. 2.) Let me suggest the cheaper option...Grigsbymilitaria.com, I have a pair they are incredible!

Personally I like the Low boots with gators...They fit so much nicer...so if the need to run comes along you don't need to worry about them slipping around ...
