Hi, i am newer to these forums so please go easy on the Admin hammer if i do something wrong. I am looking into buying the new MP40 AEG and defiantly am going to need the extra mags for it. Now my next question is, is there any cheap MP40 mag pouches? Every one i have seen is roughly $30 for one that holds 3 mags and $50-$60 for one that holds 6. I live in PA, so it gets hot here and cold here. Right now it reachs about 80-90 and in the winter this year we were 10-negatives. Not that it makes much of a difference, but the reason being is, i was thinking of going with the wool coat look for my uniform. Will i die in the summer heat? If you say no, would i be better off going with a grey uniform or a camo pattern? Right now i play in german flectarn and it blends in nicely, as does USA Woodland.
Can you guys help an axis player get started?

You will want to go with the 30 dollar 3 cell'd pouches Also, Germans only got overcoats if in was cold, so you wouldn't have one for the summer. The uniform all depends on what impression you want to do. start by picking Heer, Luft, or SS.

You should be able to find two 3 cell pouches for 30.00 not just one. Once you decide what sort of impression you want to do decide when do you play most of your airsoft. Do you play alot in the warmer weather? Then perhaps go for an HBT set of uniforms. You could easily do Heer with a reed green HBT uniform. Get a great coat later during the winter for any playing you will do then. I like splinter pattern as it blends in nicely with foilage. SS had a greater amount of camo than any Heer unit. Paratroops had Splinter and Tan and Water. If you really dig camo then SS or FJ might be the impression you want to look into. Good luck and welcome aboard Soldat!

Ok can you guys sugest what i might use as keywords to find the MP40 mag pouches on e-bay? Or do you know of a site where i can buy them for this $30 a pair? If i can find a FJ helmet cheap i may go with that and get the splinter. I do like the grey uniform look, but i would only want that for big events with little camo needed such as a D-day event.
P.S. Know of any of you guys located near PA? It doesn't even have to be Axis, just WW2 airsoft in general.

Dan, Heer had "Tan and Water" too. I myself would get HBT to start with. Then maybe wool and a parka. Right now Hessen Antique has HBT on sale for about $150 a pair. Wich is kind of cheap when you look at how much Lost Battalions and At The Front cost. www.hessenantique.com/

I would advise that you make a definite decision on your impression as others have also suggested more or less. Be wary of eBay auctions unless you know what you're looking for. But here are a few options for purchases that are probably the least expensive and trouble to deal with.
Uniforms: Hessen Antique and ReenactorStuff.com
Service Shirts: Hessen Antique (both Tricot and Cotton type are fairly priced. ) **Stay away from the Rayon/cotton blends from 1944 Militaria and Grigsby as even in the smallest sizes they are made too baggy. Although made of "cooler" feeling material and probably better suited for warmer temps, the smallest twig will tear a hole in it.
Helmets, Service Belt, Ammo Pouches, slings, Y + utility straps: Military Tour, Bayonet Inc., ReenactorStuff.com
Boots, Gemaschen, socks, insoles: Military Tour, At The Front, Landser, Gowen Militaria
Tornisters: 1944 Militaria
Breadbags, Canteens, Gas Mask items, E-tools: Hessen Antique, Bayonet Inc., Bunker Militaria,
k98 Bayonet: IMA (makes great repros) and Fieldwerks (for a resin version).
Hobnails, toe caps, and heel irons: Bunker Militaria, 1944 Militaria.
Service Caps: GD43 (email for prices)
Hope that helps...
Mike
