Don't own one but I've shot one, it seems to have decent power and ok accuracy, but since it's a gas gun that can't be taken for granted all the time. Another thing to keep in mind is that the bolt only goes back a centimeter or so and holds the gas, so reloading will not be a smooth and rapid process.

Its a weird system, and makes reloading an obscure and time consuming process. Also, if used for an impression, trying to get an air-can that can be pulled out easily and still be impression appropriate is almost impossible. Luckily its mostly fixable, but the feed mechanism on mine broke, and I can't fix it, and was going to put it up for sale.
I'd say stay away unless you really want a Mosin, or you plan on using it for a VSR conversion.

I would say for a VSR conversion you will be better with a real wood stock from multiple arsenal available. I found them as cheap as 59Eu including all metal parts. Still unsure if I want to build such thing. Hopefully I'll get a SVT-40 wood stock at some point.

shiftysgarand I have no experience with gas guns - but besides the issues/thoughts that come with gas guns, does it shoot far/accurate? Dracul I've heard the reloading system is... unique. But after time it can become a little more easy. How long did yours last before it broke? adrg i'm planning on using it for a Carcano Rifle conversion, as well as another group will use them for makeshift arisakas for the time being. thanks for the replies!

Ever since I got it really. I was able to fix everything else, but there is nothing I could come up with to fix the BB feeding problem.

I see- the action looks close enough to work on this. You can also try and find the spring version - harder to find. Yet the loading mechanism will be the same.

I have the gas version. Never touched (or seen for that matter) the spring one, so I couldn't really say which one is "better." All I know is that there are ways to fix up most of the Gas version, but have no idea how to, or if even possible, to fix the Spring version.

Gas rifles have a general issue - they are inconsistent when the gas reservoir is full and when it is getting empty. Also you have great variation when the temperature drops (either due to external conditions or due to rapid fire). The gas guns are becoming unusable when getting bellow 15 C. This is hardly acceptable for sniper level but the gas gun usually remains schirmishable. There is another issue I see - due to location of the input valve use of HPA is probable impossible. For spring version the main issue would be the power limited to arround 300fps. Depending on the cylinder dimension you might find out that you are limited to this without possibility increase similar like Dboys Kar98. Also these seems prety rare.

Dracul how's the fps and range? Is it relatively consistent? Which gas works best? Thanks

Never brought it to a field because of said feeding issues. When it did fire, I was getting above 400 fps, but was never able to create an average because feeding issues.

I found this video that might help - it is for Zeta Labs MN. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bAyT39IUqoIt possibly doesn't fit the directly for the internal mag PPS type but I guess the same principle can be applied. Hope this helps, dragos

adrg so he converted the magazine to essentially a low cap? That's great.

I think he actually split the internal mechanism into a removable 3D printed mag and an inner transport tube. I guess the PPS Nagant is similar with the PPS M40A1 internal mag (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PPS-Airsoft-Toy-Magazine-For-M40A1-Air-Cocking-Rifle-Series-PPS-MAG-M401A-/282073641226). I am using this in an project to transform the Dboys Kar98 from shell ejecting system to internal fed mechanism. From the first attempts the mag doesn't seem to give reliable feeding - the spring has not sufficient power to push the bbs up to the hop-up. I might need to short its neck a little (to fit better in the K98 space and compress more the spring - with the expense of a decrease in bbs number). You can find similar idea in CAW M40 sniper - external magazine with an inner tube to guide the bbs from mag to hop-up. The advantage is that it places the mag in the right position with a disadvantage of less reliable feeding. For ww2 replicas, this just adds a little to the realism to match the frequent rifles jams
