That is beautiful!
BTW, there are photographs of some of the first American troops in France in WWI armed with Krags. Don't know if any of them went to the front.

I think the Krag soldiered for American troops at San Juan hill and the Mexico incursion while chasing Poncho Villa. It's service was fairly brief in any event. In looking further at your pictures it appears you imbedded parts of the VSR plastic stock inside your wood hand made stock which if so is a clever way to insure continuity of fit. Something I might consider in future builds.

That is really nice looking, how did you make it and how does it function?

The YouTube link should answer your questions Stuka. Very clever and beautiful build.

Something I might consider in future builds. The M70 has a separate nylon piece securing the magazine release button to the stock if that's what you meant. Makes it a lot easier lining things up but I did have to fabricate that brass escutcheon for the button to keep the wood around it from splintering.

C&Rsenal is a YouTube channel doing a series on WWI firearms. In this short video he discusses the question of the Krag being used in WWI. Starts at about 1:20. For you trivia buffs. The first part is about a related channel. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLKYFCGKtMg
