Here's an interesting little article about an armored patrol boat that was sunk in the Volga during the Battle of Stalingrad being recovered. Being the Firearms Blog they're mostly interested in the small arms found with it. There's a link to a picture of one of the boats (unsunk).

The thing that really got to me was seeing all the battle damage and the inserted wooden stoppers stuffed in the holes to attempt to stop leaks. This boat was clearly involved in a desperate final fight for life.
