I'm interested in converting the ППШ stick hicaps into midcaps. Should be a simple case of swapping the internals. But from which magazine?
I'm assuming MP-5 midcap.
Anyone have experience with this?
The issues I foresee needing to deal with: 1) alignment of the new innards with the hop nozzle. Does the MP-5 set up even come close? 2) fixing innards in place of the mag shell. I was thinking of glue gunning the walls. Or would pinching a pin be adequate?
If MP-5 is the way to go, need recommendations for best midcap options. Plastic body is probably best. Do they all disassemble? My experience is with AKs which have MAG brand that don't split outer and inner, while other brands do split.

You might have a problem with the MP5 mag having a more pronounced arc than the PPSh41 mag.

Thanks for the visual.
The inner of the MP-5 mag, what part of it is the BB tube and what part is the filler?
If maybe it's possible for the excess curve to be cut off with out effecting the BB channel.
