Hello,
Where is a good place online (in US preferably) to get a good replica of the 0.7 liter version?
I don't need to have an actual wwii one but also don't want a not authentic looking east German one.
There are places (bayonet inc. maybe?) where you can get repro wool covers, canteen straps and the bakelite cups but I would like to get a complete set with a relatively new cap, bottle and a black metal cup. It would be great if the whole combo could be had for $60-80.
Can anyone here help?
Thanks!

AFAIK, no one make a complete repro of a German canteen. Which is a damn shame.
I have heard rumors of Sturm coming out with one however.
Your best bet is still eBay.

You can get mint originals for $75-$90! If you dont wanna do that try Traders of the lost Surplus, I bought one of their complete Repro's the TS 30 canteens and it is excellent though it doesnt say it is a repro, you will have to settle for an aluminum cap instead of Bakelite though. Here is the link: www.totls.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=51&Itemid=51I bought my original 1942 for $90 at a militaria show Check these out, they can get pretty pricey but look real mint! stores.ebay.com/German-WW-II-Shop

Thanks for all the help. Maybe I can hold off getting one until I get myself to a militaria show....
but the TS28 at the Traders of the Lost Surplus looks like a reasonably solid bet at $75 plus postage. This one supposedly has original WII parts (unlike the TS30 which doesn't seem to), at least acc. to the website.

1944 Militaria has a good canteen selection. I got a 1 liter there for 70 or so. It's a real nice canteen with the bakelite cup, etc. Can't recommend it enough.

Thanks - that's another useful vendor to consider.
Their website says that they don't have the 1 lit. canteen anymore though. That's the one I originally wanted but later thought the 0.7 l is more versatile.

The canteen's blow out the door pretty quickly. Best thing to do is give him a call and get on deck for his next shipment. That's what I did. Real nice fella too.

The 1 liter canteens were issued to all branches throughout the war. Their issue was not exclusive to medics, etc.

Thanks for the link to the LW canteen. Unfortunately I am looking for a regular Heer/Waffen SS one.
