These pictures were taken in St. Louis MO. on Sunday, 11/18. The game was a BF2 style 'open play' with a charity fund raiser/food drive. Teams were split between hats/helmets and no-hats. Lots of fast paced action. Three of us dared to brave 400 fps 'modern' guns with our trusty MP-40. I went through 1200 rounds over the course of the day and racked up an impressive tally in the close quarters action. Once the action moved into the open, I became a damned familiar target for the guys with hot guns. ;D The temps had dropped into the 40's and it was misting rain, so a trusty Oak-A smock over the M44 dots made life quite cozy. In this shot, I'm trading fire with two guys bunkered up in the brush. MP-40 vs FAL. Moments later, one rushed me and took a burst across the crotch for his efforts. Not planned, but it was damned effective. MP-40 wins! Yes..I'm wearing M44 dot knee pads. This was late in the day and I had put off wearing them as long as I could. :? My rebuilt knees were reminding me that I'm 46, not 26 anymore. The pre-game gathering. The whole group.

Those MP40s were certainly holding their own yesterday! I know I traded shots with you at one time Ripper and I certainly felt it. All three of you guys looked good btw. P.S. I'm the guy in ACUs in the last picture. I decided to leave my WWII 502nd kit at home and went with my modern 502 kit

Just to let you guys know, I do this event every year at the same time. Always the last weekend before Thanksgiving. Ripper, SirVeilence(both in Dot 44), and Reeder(splinter) did a good job repp'n the WWII crowd. I'm in the middle in the brown top and beard. Didn't dress out for this one as I'm the game admin/coordinator. Lots of action and hard fighting by all!

People's Army = Nutter That certainly seems to be the case doesn't it? I actually prefer to get things as correct as I can, just for myself, not for any random people, so it bugged me, but what can ya do? I'm so used to having the beard (and I get to use the outfit so rarely) that it slipped my mind until it was too late. Perhaps it would look a little more natural with the 'grizzled Russian Scout' impression I'm going for? ;D

It was a good day! And not only did we raise canned food for the local food banks, everyone had a really good time. I try to put on games that fit the bill for everyone. From the guy that wants to do mission styled games to the run 'n gun guy that just want to count the amount of BB's he blows through. I tend to take it personal if someone doesn't have a good time at my events, the only complaint I got this year... was from people trying to take the hill! It was a meat grinder for sure! But I'd say it was a good time for everyone, and I plan on doing another one soon.... but with a chilli cook off(so break out the family receipe) to keep people warm and toasty in the cold.
I'll post it up here when I get off my a55 and get it going. But guys I do this event every year at the same weekend(last one before turkeyday) so come on by and join us!

Gateway paintball park. I know the owner and talked him into letting us do it there. It has since grown big enough that we now have our own section and we are.... expanding into new areas all the time. If possible my 10 yr plan is to run the painballers out! lol

Pics look great.
I sometimes where knee pads too (old forces injury) but i find if i wear them *under* my combat trousers nobody notices and they work just as well.
Might be worth a try?
