This will no doubt be the largest WW2 Airsoft event on the East Coast. Sponsored by HMSG. Historical Military Simulation Group it is a 3 day immersive event on 200 hilly, wooded terrain in VT. The event centers around the campaign to capture Sicily and drive Italy out of the war. The cost is only $30.00 if paid in advance. Uniform and weapons rentals are available for 30 players
More details to come. Im flying out for this one. The have tentage vehicles and fabulous props. HMSG does Mostly Vietnam events (100 plus players). I am supporting his efforts to expand his WW2 events.

I have considered going to this one. I have some friends that participate in the Vietnam events who love the field. I just wasn't sure how immersive and authentic the WWII event would be. I am from New England and would love to go, but I'm trying to find more info first. Keep me posted definitely.

Is there a website or facebook page for this event? I am always interested multi day immersive events, especially WWII related. Also it helps that I have an Italian group, and would love to wear our Sicily kits!

Anyone attend the Operation Husky event in Vermont? How was it? I did not make this one but I did speak with Tom Kish who went there with one other. They were the only ones who showed. The event organizer felt bad as he realized that there were other airsoft events in the area happening that same weekend. Tom told me that they helped the owner with some field maintenance and enjoyed themselves. He is hopeful that his next events will have good turnouts. I do believe he does Vietnam events up there as well.

Holy cow! I was going to go, but it was Mother's Day weekend and the family had plans. Yeah, I heard it is very eventful for the Vietnam Airsoft theming. I think maybe the next time us northerner guys should coordinate to travel as a group (perhaps setup points to meet up along the way). At least they got to enjoy themselves though, that's what matters.

Their Vietnam game for July 19-21 has 92 people pre enrolled and are expecting half again that many people. When he started doing Nam events he was lucky to get 6 people. Its my hope he grow WW2 like he has Vietnam. He has the passion for it and has a great location which truthfully is usually the biggest challenge.
I am shipping him 20 WW2 costumes for his next WW2 event and have just shipped him a dozen Vietnam set ups for Gis and a dozen Vc and NvA uniforms.

I hope the hobby can expand that well as it did with the Vietnam Airsoft. I try to promote the sport any chance I get to swell the ranks so we can hold larger games.
I've been thinking about that Vietnam game coming in July. I have the kit, just never the time to travel out of state too much for a skirmish or weekend event.

I think if a lot of us show up the Nam game we will have a chance to connect with a lot of interested converts for a WW2 event and keep SGT DIAZ of Historical Milsim thinking periods beyond Vietnam. I am flying out from Seattle for his Nam event in July. He has lots of Nam loaner gear.

I can concur to that. A few guys from the Nam world came to a Market Garden event a couple years ago and I was able to grab their attention to retain the WWII hobby and still do the Vietnam. I have collected Vietnam War Era '56 gear long before I airsofted, and now that I have been realizing the Nam airsoft community is large, it'll be nice to go to a full scale event, and hopefully convert some more people to WWII.

I think I'ts a symbrionic relationship. Military history buffs tend to cross periods. We had a lot of players come to Jump to Destiny that we met at Recondo school.

I like history. And technically airsoft IS reenacting. Otherwise our guns would be Tippmann 98’s that looked nothing like a real firearm.
Great to see WW2 airsoft growing. I’ve been invited to “The battle of Kursk” the WW2 group in north Idaho, June 1st. Will have to see how I feel here.

Hopefully you continue to be on the mend. I will be no doubt be more roleplayer than participant at the NAM game. Do briefings, monitor radios at the TOC Hand out mail call etc. Recently I played a senior NVA officer COL Nihm Ba Tri. (No one got the joke) but it was fun. My capture was one of the missions. It was going well as they had me surrounded, killed all my guards and I was out of ammo in my pistol. Then someone threw a grenade into the tunnel I waz in. My ears are still ringing.

Seriously no one got. I was sure when he was named in the operations order everyone would bust up but no reaction whatsoever. This big NAM game is going to be a kick. I am shipping him 20 NVA costumes this week. Reed green lught cktton shirts and pants, sun helmets, ak chest rigs and camo parachute scarves. I really think Historicalmilsim is going to be our springboard for large, high quality WW2 events. Its a full time deal for him. Hes single, lives on the property and is super passionate about making it work. For those of us who try sponsoring events while we have jobs, families or school we know how hard it is and even when we pull it off we're too burned out (and broke) to hold another while the momentum is there.
