Hey all! Just wanted to post this guide here for those who might be interested. This is a complete guide on converting 30 round length KA midcap Thompson magazines into metal 20 round length midcap magazines. Since this information is not easily available online, I have tried to be as thorough as possible with explanations and pictures. Feel free to copy this to other forums or ask me any questions you have! drive.google.com/file/d/1me4ft3-QRUJtg6oY8a4_zxx6qKACUooK/view?usp=sharing

Excellent tutorial. Thorough explanations and great pictures. For the purposes of realistic play I am neither a fan of high caps, OR Midcaps but was frustrated that no one made low caps in the 20 round length. Brownish posted a tutorial on shortening the 30 round length to the more iconic 20 round length. I did up 6 and have been very happy with them. I like that you are ending up with metal shells.

Thanks! I am sure this would work for low cap conversions as well, though the spring retention pin/block may be in a different location. So this guide would still be helpful with some alterations to the retention pin drilling step.

Fantastic guide thesaxon, the 20rd mags are certainly more common in theater. Great to see some more guides about how to make them!
