I see there is starting to be a fairly complete list of WW2 replica BB rifles in online store. A bunch listed on Ebay. In particular I am curious about the CO2 powered M1 carbine and German MP40. Apparently they are pretty good? Obviously for skirmishing they'd be a no go but for plinking they might be kinda fun. As a kid and at Recondo school we had full on BB wars. Ouch!!!! Not many cheaters as they really stung.

I recall a lot of positive internet buzz (ie, reviews) about a C02 .177 M14. It sounded like a lot of fun, and I've seen the full auto mp40's that look like a good time! In addition I see a CO2 M1 carbine offered by a couple manufacturers Crossman and Springfield Armory.. Decades ago I owned a half dozen spring powered M1 carbine BB guns which were excellent choices for BB wars. They held 22 rounds that were loaded through a hole in the upper handguard and were gravity fed. To cock you pushed in the barrel. Most of them were real wood but some were a composite. The detachable magazine was simply a repository for spare BBs. I think they cost $22.00 at K Mart. (A lot of money at the time). When I went in the Army I gave them to my assorted brothers. I see on Ebay they are a hot collectible. $200.00 plus!

I had a mini M14 that fired .177 bbs and several Crossman M1 carbine BB Guns but they had to be cocked each time. The carbine pump action was cool. You pushed the barrel in and out. The M14 could be pumped multiple times and could be extremely powerful. Probably 700 fps? Definitely a varmint killer. I also saw on Ebay some cool 30/30 winchester replicas. One pump action like a more authentic looking version of the old Daisey Riders and a CO2 powered model.
