I stumbled on this series which looks like a good resource for WWII airsofters as well as serious reenactors. The particular video I came up is Episode 14 on HBT uniforms. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcCSdY3Ne0MThe channel is called "The US GI Reenactor Guide." They have a ton of videos on specific topics, like The M1 Rifle, The Wool Uniform, etc. www.youtube.com/@theusgireenactorguide1830

How did I miss this post. What a great resource. Natura!ly my standards are so far removed as to be laughable but I dare say we do a great job of hiding the glaring offenses by keeping modern items in tents or somewhat period looking crates. I have always felt that typical reenactors carry their dillegence too far and when they mentioned the "horrors" of seeing the outline of cell phones in trouser pockets I rolled my eyes. To each his own. I also see that limiting uniform items not common in a given unit at a given date is too extreme. The hobby is expensive enough but apparently these folks if depicting a specific unit and campaign would need at least a half dozen near complete impressions. I find that web gear, mud and grime and the physical exerscion of a 72 hour event hides many things.
