That's hilarious. It's the first Japanese-made product I have seen that is designated as a Japanese replica weapon. I suppose that they do not want to ake reminders of their past.

you could easly make a morter all you need is a morter of course and use some of those roket lancher shells and drop them down the tube. I saw it on a video I found on yahoo. I can't remember the website though. I think it was like Calorado ww2 airsoft.

Uhmmmmm, It would hurt? What if you peeked inside your airsoft AEGs muzzle when someone pulled the trigger? What if you weren't wearing goggles when you did it? ?? What if you get shot in the face without a face mask from close range? ?? What if you stepped in a hole when you were running and like didn't see the hole and your leg like broke? ? At the risk of rsponding to the obvious.... Seriously, The shells we fire from our mortars are nerf rockets and while quite soft they would do serious damage at the point of the muzzle when launched or if they were fired as a direct fire weapon at fairly close range (inside of 50 fett or so) For that reason we only fire them as indirect fire weapons lobbed at the opponent. They go roughly 135 yards and probably reach an elevation of several hundred feet. As with a real mortar you clearly want to keep your face and hands well clear of the muzzle during launching. They used to make and sell Howler rockets which made an awesome whistling sound as they were coming down. We decree a 20 foot kill ratio from the point of impact. If hey hit you in the head on the downward plunge they wouldn't be likely to hurt anymore then getting hit by one that was thrown at someone. One more good reason to wear a helmet I guess.

Oh, I was thinking along the lines of the raging bull airsoft grenades you stick in the grenade luanchers, those things are like solid metal and hold like 40 BB's inside. I was just trying to make a point, that if somebody got hit with one of those it could get pretty bloody...

Certainly true of any airsoft item. The nerf rockets sound fairly harmless but in fact leave the weapon at such incredible velocity that in spite of their soft outer shell would literally stick into plaster board and I even saw a picture of one that stuck in an inner door to a bathroom. Why someone would launch one of these indoors is beyond me but it certainly warrants a cautionary reminder.
The japanese knee mortar that originally started the thread looks pretty neat. Incidently the Marines called it a knee mortar when they captured some and discovered quite painfully that it definitely is not designed to be launched from your knee. Anecdotal reports of broken legs trying it. Ouch!!!!!
