Holy crap :S Well I s'pose your rules are different then ours in Canada. You have to be a minimum of 18 to by a gun (Or have parental permission) and be over the age of 16 to play with our club. Sponsorship rules are in effect and anyone who shows immaturety or is dangerous are no longer allowed to play. This has kept Airsoft Kelowna in high standings and continues to supply us with awesome people to skirmish with.

yeaaaah.. Immaturity is a nono when dealing with even replica firearms. Especially assault weapons when this country is on such high allert with terror threats. Canada seems more relaxed about guns in general though, since gun related crimes are far lower there than in the U.S.

yeah, when I was reenacting, I had to be a medic, becuase they won't let me carry a firearm until I'm 18. But still, you have to be at least 16 to play WW2 Airsoft, but for 16 and 17 year olds you need your parents to fill out a document or somthing.

Canada slack? lol. Our gun laws are insane. It requires a tonne of paperwork to actually obtain a rifle here, on the other hand...I sent a order down to the US, obtained a Kar98 for re-enacting, no questions asked and half the price :S

I find age, a factor in maturity but not the, be all, end all. We require folks under 18 to have parental permission of course and players under 16 have to have a parent present as a player. (No drop em off pick em up later stuff.) It dramatically increases the level of attention and responsibility. Without the kid there the old dudes are incorrigible! Seriously, I've seen exceptionally mature 11 year olds and 20 something idiots. Airsoft is a great parent child activity and in my opinion that should be encouraged. My son started playing at 14 and is now 18. The local club wouldn't let him play even with me playing as well. That struck me as incredibly narrow minded. I'm more concerned with sportsmanship, decision making and team work and love seeing it from any age. (within reason)
There was one young kid at the Battle of the Bulge who didn't seem to have much situational awareness (from a tactical perspective) He probably was about 12? He was there with his dad. He had a great attitude, called his hits, did what he was told and made a great target in his great coat and kraut helmet all the while smiling and having a super time. he always died very animated and seemed to have as much fun with theatrical deaths as firing his weapon. Give me a dozen of them any day. (especially on the other side!) Since late in the war the Germans recruited both very young and very old it seemed reasonable from a historical perspective.
Every club is different and they all have the right to whatever determination they arrive at. Those excluded have to accept it and not pester a club about it which only forces them to become more adamant about it.

yeah, pre-teens always seem to have the most dramatic deaths. It's almost like they practice it. If I lunged across the field to show a theatrical death, I would probably break a bone...or my precious gun.

Depending on the rules. I suggest contacting groups in your area to find out the restrictions that they have on age.

For some reason, all of the dads I invite are like that, especially my own. He's the mirror image of Sergeant Schulz, too, and looks fantastic in Kraut uniform. All of them seem to get really immersed with the rolepalying involved, and one of 'em even brought some malodorous Sauerkraut, which on its own warded off an Allied attack!
Well, I am sixteen, and waiting for something to happen here in California.

I grew up with the smell of cosmoline and military oiled canvas (My dad was a 30 year guy) Two of my brothers went into the army but I'm the only one who planned a career. I graduated from ROTC in 1969 with a four year scholarship and eneterd in June of 69. I medically retired in 1977. I've been doing airsoft since 1986 when I bought my first airsoft gun in Japan. They were quite unreliable and troublesome but cool but there wasn't sufficient interest in skirmishing at the time. My son pointed out the development of AEGs through his own interest at age 14, I bought a Thompson and from then on we were both hooked.
Great father son activity. Like hunting but you never have to gut anything!

It is undenisable that teenagers have animated deaths. I once was at a seminole War reenactment, and had a deal with a native. Right on the high note of My Country tis of Thee, He rushed from the village and shot me, stopping my playing the song. I then lay there, wounded, draggint myself about. I sat there screaming at the idiots in my drum corps to help the other wounded. When the captain went down, they ignored him. I told him that he was to come up and get me. He helped me up, I whispered to him to be ready for a fake punch, and pretended to punch him straight on the ground. I then dropped, pretending to be finally bled out. Of course, this was combined with a bit of me dragging meself about, me trying to play the fife and gurggling up fake blood, at one point half sitting holding a dropped flag until the sargent releived me of it, etc, etc. It added alot to the battle because I was the only wounded man. Anyway, I am 13 and basically head of whatever one could call Florida WWII Airsoft. We might be playing a sort of haphazard game next week, although it all dependes on a few factors that ared pretty much random.

Yes, teenagers have very animated deaths. I love doing it as well, so it just makes it better for all of you oldies to "kill" us and then watch us go down HARD. Joking joking.
