Hi! I see that nobody mentioned this game yet. It is being developed and not expected to be out soon. BUT! This is gonna something that we never seen before. A complete recreation of Normandy from old photos. The map size will be 160x160 KM. ALl nations will be playable: from the 101st to the 12thss and all the way to the 709th Inf. ABSOLUTLY EVERY NATIOn that took part in Normandy. I strongly suggest you guys read the FAQ, I almost pissed myself how crazy the features will be www.1944d-day.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=63Here are some WIP's and models www.1944d-day.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2021I won't say anything else, JUST read. I gonna say one thing This game is gonna be very big, very very big.

I've seen this and I've got to say, it looks very impressive. What most people don't realize though is that this game is also going to be a modification of Half Life 2 as well as a standalone product. I'm wondering how they are going to pull of the HL2 mod, the documentation on that engine is horrible. I don't like the fact that there are no subtitles for foreign armies, so if you are playing as the Germans, you need to know German to really read the objectives! I know that they are aiming for near-perfect realism, but that is just taking it a step too far! A great thing about the Reality Engine is that it supposedly only renders the draw distance (in Laymens terms, what you see on the screen). Of course, I haven't gotten my hands on it yet, so nothing like that has been confirmed. It would be awesome though. I'm looking forward to this game, it really looks like alot of fun. Edit: You know what I would like to see in a WWII game? I would love to see the Italian mountain battles and be play as a German desperately defending Berlin in the last days of the war. Maybe I could mod 1944 D-Day...hmmmm....this is getting off topic, sorry.

Just because it takes an eternity and a half to create a game it doesn't mean it will take long to make a mod. In fact Ronan said modding will be easy in the game. SOOO, after the game is done we will see Italy, Burma PTO, East front mods come out very fast. It was not offtopic at all, it will be part of the game. AND YES! I just want to fight for Ortona, Anzio, Gothic Line. The Italian front is non existent in games, and thats very sad

WW2OL is expanding into N. Africa where they are introducing Italians, and Americans. And I believe 1944 D-Day is coming out for PC.

I think I read somewhere that the game is also coming out on the Xbox 360, but don't quote me on this.
What I want to know is how they will handle anti-tank weapons, but the wierd thing is on the forums there is that you need to have ten posts but the only area you have access too doesn't count towards your post count. How messed up is that? (Yes, I do realize that I am probably exagerating, but it is a little wierd that they set it up that way).
You've never modded have you? It can, and usually will, take a long time to create a mod if you are aiming for serious content and not "1 M0RE WEPAON SO IT TtOTALL CONVErsI0N MOD!!!!!!!111one!11". No matter how good the SDK is, it will always take a while to make a mod. A good team can complete a mod in about two years. I'm sorry if I sound like an ass, but it really steams me when someone says "I think I can make a complete and grandios mod within a couple of days."

What I meant is that the game is in developments for 5+years now, and the modding will take just a couple of months. I suggest if your interested, just read the facts..... Lots good stuff there, worth the read There will be all kinds of AT weapons, PZfaust, PZschreck, Gebaltes Ladung, Panzerwurfmine.... etc. !everything! The thing is, everything will be destructible. Thus, tanks will show armor penetration. I think this game will be very awsome.
