Have any of you seen Hogan's Heroes? It's hilarious! It's about a group of Allied POW's running an underground organization in a Nazi POW Camp, Luft Stalag 13. Most of the stuff is surprisingly accurate, and Col. Klink and Schultz are a riot! I can't believe that this show wasn't mentioned along with the others. It was very popular back in the late 60's early 70's.

I loved this show as a kid, although by the time I moved to the USA it was only in re-runs. There was some controversy over the show with Jewish groups who felt it was making light of the holocaust.

I heard that the show was released to Germany in the 80's or 90's and it remained in the top 90% of most liked TV shows over there until they took it off the air.

you can't make a show like that today, it's just not politically correct to have a sitcom about a Nazi POW camp.

everytime I see that show I can't help but feel sad knowing the violent death that Bob Crane suffered I watch the show every morning and I totally feel the same way about Bob. It is sad knowing there will probably never be justice for him... -Dakota

you can't make a show like that today, it's just not politically correct to have a sitcom about a Nazi POW camp. Very true...just like the banned bugs bunny, popeye, and Walt Disney cartoons from that era. Very rarely will you ever see the rerun of the 3 Stooges doing their Nazi sketch. Gotta make everyone happy...whoever "everyone" is. Mike

I've got an autographed headshot from Werner Klemperer (Col. Klink). Used to keep it at my desk at work when I was a young, brash programmer during the dot com boom. Now days I wouldn't think of having it out!

Funny how Schulz always carried around a Krag and some of the other guards would use Thompsons. However, I doubt most of the pbulic knew - or cared. I've got the first three seasons, and they're wonderful. Never get old.

Ya I laughed my ass off when I saw that... I bought the seasons because it was such a great show, and now that Im re-watching the show again, I find so many WW2 errors in it.. The big one being the guards have allied weapons.. LOL
