For those of you that do not know what this game is; it is simply a half life 2 mod. It is based on WWII Allies VS Axis in small battles for control over a given town. It is not as realistic as say Call to duty or Metal of Honor and it has no single player; however I find the online play very fun, especially when you have a group of guys that use WWII tactics in game.
If anyone already plays this game you may add me to your friends list.
Game name: [2nd Para] Pvt. Teleon

I find it more realistic than CoD or MoH. The way that Valve did the deaths is amazing!

Ugh I hate that game! The fact that only one gun on each team has sights is really annoying.

Ture that Ture that, I like it though, I love to steal Allied guns and use them on those fools, also being MG is pretty fun, when in the right spot.

Being a 'veteran' of the Day of Defeat franchise since 2000, I agree in part with some of the comments. IMHO the original DoD was one of the best WWII theme games ever produced- And when the long-awaited HL2 version was first released I was frankly dissapointed.
However, this current product seems to have recaptured much of the feel and playability of the original. As well, the HDR enhancements to the graphics again, IMHO really place this game at the forefront of the WWII gaming genre. I believe this is not only the best looking WWII game out right now, it is probably one of the best looking (most realistic, non-'cartoony') games available today.

Yeah I played the original also, you had a way wider range of weapons on both sides, but all the maps were really really dark.

I’m really happy to see that people here enjoy this game as much as I have. I’ve played Day of Defeat since its very first beta release. I’m also a Day of Defeat and Day of Defeat source map maker. I’ve made some really bad looking maps in my days but over the years I have become quite talented in my own opinion.
I think Day of Defeat Source had a bad start but it is slowly making its way back to the great playability of the original; with objective maps being generated and some very fine looking re-makes of original maps! I simply cannot wait until Caen is re-done.

I used to run a server with my own custom maps. I don’t believe they have been circulated as the original day of defeat maps were quite beginner level designs.
Day of Defeat Maps I have made that made it to the internet:
DOD Snow Forts -A basic square map with a snowy terrain and snow-brick bunkers with flags area flag captures. DOD Fort Oct Luft -British allies have to attack a German fort and capture 3 flags. 1st flag is at the gatehouse, 2nd flag is the guardhouse. Last flag is the courtyard.
Day of Defeat Source Maps I have made, that are currently on servers:
DODS The graveyard -A hilly graveyard with 3 tombs that need to be captured. There are many gravestones, bushes, tall grass and a mix of willow trees. S (Still largely in development and test stages; but is playable)
DODS the Bridge014 (014 -started off as a fight for a bridge but ended up being mostly an underground German compound with many secret passages and long hallways that the teams fight fiercely for. This map is on 3 servers and is still incomplete. I was taking player suggestions and adding to this map daily as players tested it out and kept wanting more.
Day of Defeat Source Maps I am now developing:
DODS Small beach -It is want it sounds like, a small beach map, however, it is an objective based! (Allies must destroy 3 AA guns) Allies will start in boats just out of the Axis view from their fixed emplacements (such as a pillbox and some dug in sandbag bunkers and trenches.) The beach is very rocky with high and low sand dunes and a lot of drift wood that makes for good cover. '
To answer your question i do not have the old DOD maps anymore. But i do have the new ones if you would like to check them out sometime. You can add me to your friends list on DODS.
