I have a couple stupid questions for the real steel experts out there.
1) On the MG 42 the cross bolt located on the grips. Is this a safety switch? or fire selector? Are real MG42's full auto only?
2) On the MG34, What position is the cocking handle in when the gun is ready to fire? All the way forward?
Thanks for any help Schmitty

1. Thats a saftey, mg 42s were full auto only. 2. all the way foreward, (im almost 100% sure, been about 6 years since i fired one) -Gordak

Thanks Gordak, I originally thought that the MG42 cross bolt was a fire selector, Glad to know it's not since that means my MG42 aeg is more realistic than I first thought.
I've had a MG34 parts kit in mid AEG conversion for the last year that I finally got around to working on. I was trying to figure out where to position the bolt handle. If you move it all the way forward it locks into a tab that would require two hands to cock the bolt. (one to hold the release while the other pulls it back. I'm guessing this is a lock to keep the bolt from moving back during transport.

Did yourrs break?? The original would be fine for looks, but the Hardness of the real steel would eat up your aluminium receiver fast! I dont recomend it! -Gordak
