For those who don't know, the MKB42(H) was the winning prototype of the STG-44. I really want to make one into an AEG, but as most of you know, STG parts are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find. I know Shoei makes a blank firing version, but I don't want to frankenstein something that nice. Which AEG platform would be good for this? Any ideas/suggestions? BTW, I want to "modernize" the MKB sort of how the the animators from the movie Jin-Roh: The Wolfbrigade did. Here's some reference photos. Oh and if you want to check out the movie, Jin-Roh, here's what it's renowned for:

This is what I would do...buy the model MKB42 from Shoei, buy Escort INternals (Shoei has them) and modify it to be a Gas rifle. I can't see that it would be that difficult....it's pretty much an MP44 and Shoei did a fine job throwing the escort internals into that.

You see that's the thing. It's kinda expensive doing it that way...

No one seems to get the fact that THERE IS NO CHEAP WAY TO DO THESE THINGS!!!!!!! Unless of course you want them to look,,,,,well,,,,,,CHEAP! It all comes down to time or money and in the case of custom guns usually a lot of both. Good luck and keep us posted. I'm all for all the custom quality choices we can get.

the Mkb has a totally different trigger group, also, the jin roh mkb42 is out of scale, so it would have to be REALLY customized.
It would be a massivly difficult project, to make a gun that is only a training aid in the Jin Roh story, considering the scale issue, I wouldnt do it -Gordak

so from what you're saying, the Jin-Roh version has been scaled down to what seems to be a training weapon. am i right? (I noticed that the Jin-Roh version was a bit smaller than the full size MKB. Is that what you're talking about?)
