I have long wanted a real Carcano, but I would never have fired one if I had one becuase of lack of time and firing ranges. Airsoft gives me new hope. If it is possible, I would want to learn how to convert a stock airsoft rifle into a Carcano M91. I would say the best bet would be a Tanaka Kar 98K, but it is still a long shot. The similarities lie in the bolt:

The kar barrel is approximately 740mm, and the Carcano Long rifle is approximately 780mm. They are pretty close in size, just the carcano would have a little extra room in the receiver. However, the bolt action on the kar would need to be cut short and rounded to turn into a carcano.
