Hey guys,
I was wondering how much of a difference a tightbore would make on the accuracy of the gun. What would be the best inner diameter for the barrel?
My shots seem to be curving to the right. I was thinking that maybe the hop has been slightly tweaked to the side? Does anyone know what the problem might be with that? How could i realign the hop up chamber?
How accuarate has someone gotten theirs? How far and what kind of groupings?
Lastly, what kind of modifications to any part on the gun, if any, can be done to give this even better performance?
Any input would be greatly appreciated, Im trying to see just how far and accurate I can take this gun. I originally was the only sniper in my airsofting group but lately people have decided to start doing it as well and are saying my gun is outdated. So, it's time to prove them wrong again and I'm hoping you guys can give me some tips on how to make this gun even better. Thanks.

Hey David Ben here. Yeah man, in the beginning.........well, um.........last week, I did notice that my Tanaka Kar-98 had the same problem. I did start experimenting with the hop-up feature at the bottom of the gun, and did notice that my ammo started shootin' straighter. Like you, I did have the "lob" (ammo started curving to the right and left). I don't know man; I don't think that getting as in depth with your piece is that necessary. It might just be something little, like tweeking up your Hop-up................a lil' more than you're accustomed to. Good luck bro!

I noticed in another thread you said you use red gas? I'm not sure if it has the same effects as green gas, but it might be damaging your gun. Hope this helps.

Everyone I know that has one always uses green and they dont seem to have any problems with it. Im not sure though. Im still wondering if the hop up is misaligned to one side though and how much of a difference a tightbore is really gonna make

The nozzle is also too short. It's a design flaw. This causes bad accuracy, with high velocities.

The brass nozzle right? Is there anyway to lengthen it or do you think a nozzle from another tanaka rifle would work or be able to be swapped (providing that the other would be longer, that is)
Any other ideas? BTW, thanks mikkel for the info. I didnt know about that.

very interesting, was this fixed on the G version?
I have and original version kar98 that shot much better when I installed a tight bore. However, looking back, its much better to just get a G-Version -Gordak

Mine's supposed to be a G-version, however it must be missing the screw for adjusting FPS cause it didnt have it when I bought it.

Gordak> No, the nozzle the same length on the g-version as on the regular one (at least in the g-version kit i got for my regular one). The most recent tanaka rifles hae longer nozzles, but it's still not good enough. My upgraded nozzle is sticking out around 1cm from the bolt, when viewed from the top.

i just installed a KM titanium coated precision barrel in one of my kar98k's. installation was very easy. I haven't tested the "accuracy" yet. i'll keep you posted
