Hello,
I have a quick question about the K98's both these companies make. Why is the Tanaka k98 reccomended over the Marushin k98? Does the marushin k98 have alot of technical problems? Thanks in advance!

It boils down to skirmishability. Both look good and are well made. The tanaka simply shoots more powerfully and allows for greater ease of use. the Marushin has shells that need to be loaded and ejected and while highly authentic are too much hassle for normal outdoor gaming. In addition the power and range of the Marushin is quite dissapointing. The tanaka is one of the hardest shooting and most accurate airsoft weapons right out of the box and if you're going to limit yourself to a bolt action rifle you really need some sort of edge to be reasonably competitive on the field.

the first norwegian airsoft game was held last weekend(i was ofcouse on vacation) not that big of a turnout. 8 US Airborne 101st, 4 norwegian resistans, and 5 germans.
the germans had a Shoei MG 42 but at 460fps it was to powerfull to use. and the 5 germans was stuck with 3 Takana K98 and 2 TOP Mp40 and 2 sidearms. against 8 Airborne with 7 Thompsons and 1 Carbine.
luckly the Takanas was perfect for long range fire, even the Luger and P38 had greater distans then the Thompsons. iv'e convinced several guys to buy the Marushin Garand. they were afraid it was unuseble, and that it broke just by looking at it.
but thats not the case. and with 6-7 clips pr. gas fillig you get 56 shots, thats the same as 4 Carbine mags. and those are playable
