Buy the Tanaka K98. The Marushin is the model with the highly expensive and quickly lost shells. The Tanaka performs better anyway.

The thing is I go with authenticity over accuracy. At the last event I didnt even shoot one round of my panzerschreck and only shot 3 rounds of my spring pistol. Reason being I was into the game!!! I dont care about the shells I just want to wear regular kar 98 pouches and upgrade the gun to the extent where people will know that they are shot.

I've heard of one upgrade.
GET A TANAKA.
Seriously, Marushin's aren't worth the crap.

the local airsoft technician in my area who has corespondance with redwolf (the people with the only upgrade). he told me that the guys over at redwolf told him that inate flaws in the marushin design cause the bolt to rupture and crack when upgraded to higher pressures. the airsoft tech is a professional who's been working on airsoft guns since they were first invented. (he has even upgraded a p90 to go 40 rounds a second with minimal maintenance; so his word of advice is to best to be taken to heart)

I just might be able to get my hands on a asahi mp40 or Asahi mg34 for a reasonable price so lets see how this plays out.

You'll still need a tank and a regualtor which will cost you heavily. GET A TANAKA.

Or you can ignore everyones heartfelt advice and get the Marushin and be dissapointed. The Marushin is a bad as the Tanaka is good. They are polar opposites when it comes to performance and quality. You can't make a silk purse out of a SOWs ear.

It is your decision what to get. Anyone who said a marushin is a piece of crap, is evidently not aware of the guns full potential. Although the shells are a pain in the arse indeed. With the Marushin k98, using PC duster (diflouro-ethane) I achieved this... I shot the can from 3 meters (NOTE: the BB after going trough the can, bounced around in the room, the temp was around 22 degrees) Entry Exit

It's the pain in the arse attributes that have us all warning others off them.

I just put my bayonet on and games over. Marushin wins HEHE ;D j/k
I have the Marushin and its a nice gun, but the Tanaka is better.
BUT because the Tanaka is better, we shouldn't call the Marushin that terrible. It performs well, after all its a long rifle.
